Chapter 18
A few hours later Raven and Ken returned to the house. They went inside. âThank you for dinner. It was great.â Raven said as they walked over to the living room.
âIt was my pleasure.â Ken said as he pulled her close and started to kiss her. She kissed him back and then she whispered in between kisses. âI did want to talk to you about something.â
Ken looked at her as he held her. âSure, what is it?â Raven started walking to the couch and sat down.
âWeâve been going out for a while nowâ She paused.
Ken looked at her and said âYes, we have been. Are you breaking up with me?â He started to chuckle as Raven stared. âWait youâre not breaking up with me, are you?â Ken chuckled weakly as his expression changed to fear.
Raven smiled at how cute he looked doing that. âNooo and I didnât think we were exclusive. Which is the reason I wanted to have this talkâ Raven said as she scrunched her face and started to pace in the living room. Which is going to make this more awkward.
Ken said âOhâ as she decided to just say it. âIâve been seeing this guy for a few weeks now. And I wanted to tell you because I was feeling bad NOT telling you.â Raven said as she stopped and stared at him. Please say something, Ken.
Ken took a deep breath and wiped his hands on his thighs. He stood up. âI guess itâs kind of my fault. I should have talked about us before.â He brushed a strand of her hair back with his hand. Raven smiled at him.
âSo do you like him?â He asked her as she thought about it. I like him but not like I do you.
âI do. But I like you more.â She said as he smiled and kissed her.
Ken hugged her as his phone buzzed in his pocket, he took it out and looked at it. âIâll be right back. I have to take this call.â Raven nodded as Ken left the room.
Jack had fallen asleep in his car with his arms crossed. A speeding car woke him up. He sat up straight and looked at Ravenâs house. He got his binoculars and started to look through them. He saw Raven open the front door as she walked towards the sidewalk. She looked around as though looking for something or someone. Who are you looking for Raven?
He continued to look and then put the binoculars down. Where did you go? He looked down at the street and looked behind him. The street was dark. The streetlight flickered and then shut off. Shit.
Jack leaned onto the windshield and looked up. He put on his binoculars, turned on the light feature, and saw that a piece of the glass had broken from the lamp. That will do it.
He put down the glasses and said out loud. âI donât know where she went. Iâll come back tomorrow to make sure sheâs good.â He turned the car on and was about to drive, when a black belt was placed around his neck.
